The lectureship is sponsored by the National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) SwissMAP of the Swiss National Science Foundation and is open to researchers in mathematical physics, in a very broad sense, possessing a PhD degree. The lectureship, beginning September 1st, 2017 (negotiable), is awarded for a period of three years.

Duties of lecturers include research and teaching. The moderate teaching load leaves ample room for further professional development. Lecturers can be allowed to supervise PhD students.
