The Mathematical Physics Group of Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh is soliciting applications for a PhD position starting 1st October 2016 with a duration of 3 years. The studentship is funded by the UK Science and Technology Facilities Council. Projects are available in the general areas of non-geometric flux compactifications, geometry and D-branes in orientifold backgrounds, higher gauge theory and quantization, plus other possibilities depending on the interests of the successful applicant. The studentship is open to all EU nationals.
